One of the questions we’re asked most often is, One of the questions we’re asked most often is, “Does it affect you when you lose an animal?”
The answer is yes.
Every. Single. Loss.
Most days, social media gets the beautiful parts of farm life.
Pretty flowers. Fresh eggs. Happy volunteers. Sunsets over the fields.
But today wasn’t one of those days.
Today we had to say goodbye to several animals we’ve cared for and loved. That meant telling people their favorite bunny had died. It meant sharing hard news with staff who had grown attached to their favorite chickens. Those conversations never get easier.
Loss is part of farming, but that doesn’t make it easy. It doesn’t make it hurt less.
Every animal here matters. Every life is valued. We believe we’ve been entrusted with the care of God’s creation, and we take that responsibility seriously. We celebrate new life, and we grieve when life ends.
We’re grateful for every animal we’ve had the privilege to care for. They have taught us compassion, stewardship, responsibility, and the privilege of caring for God’s creation.
Today our farm feels a little quieter.
We’ll keep showing you the joy, because there is so much of it. But we also want to share the hard parts. This is farm life too. And every life we care for leaves its mark on us.
Our farm-grown loofahs are now available at Luna C Our farm-grown loofahs are now available at Luna Clean Food Café! 🌿
If you’ve never used a loofah before, it’s a natural sponge grown from a gourd. Once it’s dried, it becomes a biodegradable exfoliating sponge that’s perfect for the shower, washing dishes, or everyday cleaning—no plastic required!
Stop by Luna’s Cafe for a nourishing meal, smoothie, or coffee, and grab a loofah while you’re there. We love partnering with local businesses that care about healthy living, quality products, and building a stronger community.
